Debates by Arnab Goswami on Times Now are quite famous, but off-late I started noticing that it is targeting certain Political parties. So I took the data from the Times Now Site and did some excel math on it. I am not a political expert, so there are chances of error in my analysis.
Only those debates are included which target a particular political party. Those involving multiple parties and topics not related to politics are excluded. These debates are from 12th January 2014 to 28th March-2014

As seen from the chart above majority of the debates are around the shortcomings of Congress(126) party followed by Aam Aadmi Party(48). Only 2 debates are against the BJP.

Above chart shows that 72% debates are against congress, 27% against AAP and only 1% against BJP. This kind of distributions seems abnormal.

Data reveals what I had always suspected. Thankx for this excellent analysis. It is very evident that Aurnab and timesnow debates are paid and one sided.
I have stopped watching timesnow.
From past one month I am continuously noticing the biased nature of his debates. He shamelessly speak in the favor of BJP, may be because he don’t want to upset the present govt fearing that they may reveal channel’s investment source.
But I no longer enjoy his biased debates. He has become so pro-BJP and you will see a decline in TRP very soon if it continues.
Absolutely shocking to view Times Now Tv channel under Mr. Arnab Goswami , a arrogant journalist self declared protector of the Indian people. His all programme of television discussions are looking like paid news and pro BJP. It is time for the PTI or any other true journalist to expose the investments sources for the Times Now channel.
He gets pounding from Pakistani panelist. Many panelist have stopped coming on timesnow.
This is some really cool analysis. But you might have to take into account the fact that the Congress was in power and would have to be more accountable than the BJP/AAP. Having said that, I also feel that Arnab as a debate moderator should not take sides in an ongoing debate (and allow us to hear all sides)
Now that you have taken the pain to list out all the topics discussed in the said period, can you tell us about the topics( intended against the BJB), that you would have wanted Arnab to debate. So in principle you mean there were topics which were more sensitive/serious, whatever you call it, than the above listed ones (chosen ones by the editor)?
Hi, there are many, He did not cover Muzaffarnagar riots. BJP MLA was involved. There are many more.
What a Brilliant analysis. You should post it on some social networking sites.
This is rediculous …. u suggesting that Times nw has been doing vindictive agaisnt Congi…. They are corrupt maniacs and deserve this amt of thrashing they have failed in every aspect of governance….
Nothing can justify 99% of debate discussions in favour of 1 party
Watch any show. When BJP representative gets cornered, arnab speaks for the BJP.
If you hear the structure of the debates, the slant to Arnab’s questions, the people he includes on the panel to push his agenda and the bias he shows when allowing BJP spokesmen to complete but badgers Congress, there is little doubt as to which side Times now is on
I believe Arnab is a kind of person who wants noise over news! He neither supported anyone nor blamed anyone. He just shouts at every point with his invitees.
I have seen some one blowing up with statistics on this question!
Certainly you have wasted time doing so, because if everyone goes calculating how much Arnab shouted on them, everyone gets 100%. Dear AAP followers, dont waste time on whether Arnab supports BJP or not. Think how to proove yourselves to the people of Delhi! You guys have much bigger targets then these statistics!
dear frnd give some time to other channels for ur analysis like NDTV, aajtk.etc etc..and you certainly found the striking facts that these channells are more biased then times now… may be leaning towards congress party… so your analysis is appreciated but at the same time u r also showing partiallity by not compring other new channels with times now over their partiallity…so comparison with other channels gives us broader picture my dear frnd… so i disagree with u…
Arnab is a great facilitator and nationalist . No one can doubt his integrity .. What he says what he feels ..Pakistanis are afraid to come to his show and one of the paki minister even stopped Arnab for asking tough questions ….that Stopped Arnab taking the shoot .You highlight a single episode where he was not natiolistic can you ????
The debates on JNU show a) the overt bias of Times Now, b)the unprofessional journalism of Arnab Goswami
Times Now is giving little space to Kanhaiya Kumar who has emerged as an icon for the downtrodden, the underprivilaged students & the silent majority who seldom speak. A leader is being born & it is completely ignoring. It focusses more in Ishrat Jahan to please his ruling party bosses.
It was evident where his loyalty lie when Modi was invited as Chief Guest in a Times Now function.
In the name of journalism, Times Now and Arnab Goswami sell half truth and hype and claim that people are lapping it up. In any other country, Times now would be banned for unethical conduct
Dear Mohd Aslam,
I sincerely appreciate your effort to expose the biased nature of a news channel.
Mr. Arnab is doing great injustice to journalism by being biased. One has to be unquestionably honest in dealing with any social and political happenings in countries like India before airing it through news media. Keep it up. Try to make this study so open that he reacts to this at once and tender apology to the nation
