Delhi Election Results: Winning Margin and Trailing Party Analysis

In the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP got 31seats followed by Aam Aadmi Party(28) and Congress(8). It is still not clear who will be forming the next government.Lets do some analysis of the results.

Apart from who won which seat, Winning Margin also is of interest to many people. I have used the TreeMap visualization to show the winning margin of all the candidates.Winning margin was highest for the BJP candidate Anil Jha from Kirari Constituency of 48,526 followed by another BJP candidate DR Harsh Vardhan who won by a margin of 43,150 votes. Within AAP party, Arvind Kejriwal won with a margin of 25,864 votes. In congress, Asif Mohd Khan won by a margin of 26545 votes. If we take top 10 by winning margin then it has 5 from BJP, 3 from Congress and 2 from AAP.In the following visualization, candidates of a particular party are clubbed together and the size of rectangle is proportional to the winning margin.

Another important aspect is to see who came second at most of the places. As seen from the pie-chart visualization below, BJP was at second position at 41.43% seats, followed by AAP(28.57%) and INC(22.86%).
